New Documentary: Tackling Child Criminal Exploitation in Brixton

You can now watch our latest Youtube documentary which highlights how proactive policing and partnership working helped uncover a suspected case of child criminal exploitation in Brixton.

What begins as the arrest of a teenager suspected of drug dealing quickly evolves into a complex investigation when officers uncover evidence suggesting the child has been trafficked across London and exploited by criminal gangs.

As the investigation unfolds, local officers and specialist teams work together to identify those responsible while putting safeguarding measures in place to protect the young person.

This documentary provides a behind-the-scenes look at a live investigation, showcasing how officers gather intelligence, analyse digital evidence, execute searches and pursue offenders, all while prioritising the welfare of vulnerable children.

This operation grew out of proactive policing activity carried out during a recent Intensification Week in Lambeth and Brixton, highlighting how local officers and specialist teams work together to identify vulnerable young people, disrupt exploitation and target the adults behind it.

Featuring frontline officers, detectives and specialist investigators, the programme offers a powerful insight into the Met's ongoing work to tackle child criminal exploitation and safeguard young people across London.
